May-be-A-B … Impossible (a poem)

maybeAB~-~I

Impossible by nature

Implausible in dreams

Ineffable with language

Mysterious intrigue –

What is it, what’s it look like?

Does it make a sound?

Perhaps it has an odour –

Is it air-borne or ground bound?

Whyever can’t I see it,

whatever it is there –

is it just imagination

or invisible is where?

#May-be-A-B … Everything (a verse)

maybeAB~-~E

Everything but the kitchen sink

Escaped my mind and my mind will not think

It’s getting late here by ten to twelve

And try as I might to dig deep and delve

I’d be wasting my time alike in neutral gear

And in writing while driving I’d best end it here.

N.B. I am sitting in a chair at home while writing this poem, not driving a vehicle unless considering the blog as the vehicle. I just felt it might be necessary to expound on that fact a little enough to be hopefully clear to the reader.

#May-be-A-B … Cutting (a verse)

maybeAB~-~C

Cutting it fine with a couplet in rhyme is not quite my cup of tea perhaps

but a carafe of good coffee with a plate of banoffee ice cream and a free play of craps

might create an occasion of casual celebration and cause chuckl’ation and cheer

and coincidentally these words were not meant to be, and they happen to be closing here.

#May-be-A-B … Arriving with A haiku

maybeAB~-~A

Arriving bees nav-

igate nectar-giving blooms

bumbling in with May.

While I’m alphabetically blogging again this month linking with #May-be-A-B over at SwishingUp, I can’t promise a haiku every day, as I might do something else or different each day. Today I happened to be outside skywatching when I noticed the first bumble bees I’ve seen so far this year. No doubt there have been some earlier in Spring, especially during April’s mini-heatwave, but I wasn’t outside much and hadn’t noticed any bees. Anyway, observing nature inspired this haiku, along with the letter A.

A to Z Limerick Y

Yonder denotes near or far

Maybe distant as bright shining star

Though it’s not always clear

Meaning by over there

Defined measure would sure raise the bar.

A to Z Limerick X

‘Xpressing letter X in a verse

Seems inexplicably absurd

If it’s marking a kiss

That too seems so remiss

While a spot’s marked by X so I’ve heard.
